11 dead, multiple injured as buildings collapse in Karachi's Golimar area
KARACHI: Three residential buildings in the city’s Golimar area collapsed on Thursday, killing 11 and wounding more than a dozen people, officials said. MLO Abbasi Shaheed Hospital informed that bodies of seven women, three children and one man were brought after the incident. At least 18 people were wounded in the incident, said Police surgeon Dr Qarrar Abbasi. "Among those who have been identified in the building collapse are Haider, Maryam, Yahya, Hira and Ghulam Mustafa," she said. One woman had also died in the building collapse but authorities had not been able to identify her yet. Rescue sources informed that two children were also rescued. Those wounded were shifted to a nearby medical facility. Army and Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s team also reached the site of incident to aid the rescue operations.
